Freya Spencer-Wood is a designer and researcher working at the intersection of (public) set design and queer identity.

Her practice is interdisciplinary: she regularly collaborates with artists and designers and is currently a Design Researcher in Residence at the Design Museum as well as an Associate Lecturer on architecture courses at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins.

Freya has previously worked at the V&A design studio, We Made That, East and JA Projects on a wide range of exhibition, public realm, community engagement, urban strategy and policy-making projects. This experience is representative of her commitment to engagement-led and social architecture and design processes that seek a more equitable city.

Freya graduated from TU Delft in 2019 with a Masters of Architecture, Urbanism & Building Sciences with distinction and was awarded the Best Graduate of Architecture 2019 for her thesis ‘Fragile State(s)’.
